What do you need for fundraising nights?
Church’s, sports teams and many other groups often need to raise extra money for trips, uniforms, equipment and more and so they turn to fund-raising. One easy and fun way to do this is to set up a casino night with the profits going to the organization. Setting it up is simple and people will have a blast while your group raises the money it needs.
Once you have decided that this is how you want to raise money and you have the date set, you need to first make sure you advertise it well. Send out emails and flyers around the community to let everyone know. You should include all the information on the flyers, such as whether or not there will be food, how much the games will cost, what types of prizes are available and so on.
Next, you need to make sure you have a location that is big enough to hold the ‘casino’. You should try to have your event in a large room or banquet hall so that you have plenty of room. You will need room for your tables, food and plenty of room for people to mingle.
When you set up your tables you should group them according to the games you want to have. For example, you should have an area of poker table, an area for your Blackjack tables and so on. This helps players navigate around the room better and play each type of game without getting confused and thinking they have already played.
Pick prizes for your games that will entice more players. For example, you could ask for donations from area businesses in the form of gift cards. You can ask restaurants, spas, salons and more. These will be make great prizes and will help pull people to the tables.
You should also have food and drinks available for sale so that you can add more money to your fund-raising. Depending on your organization, you may want to have adult beverages such as a cash bar; church fundraisers may or may not want to add this; however, doing so adds much more money.
Setting up a casino fund-raising night takes some organization skills and can be time consuming, but it is not that hard and can be a great way to bring in some much needed cash for your organization. Put together a team of people to help with the details and you can pull off a great event.
